- According to the 2021 population censuses, 98.5% of the
EU-27 population live in private households; the average size
of a private household is 2.2 persons.

by 11% between 2009 and 2025, while the average household
size declined from 2.4 to 2.2 persons.

between 2009 and 2025, while the number of two-adult households
increased by 4%.
