Данный исторический статистический атлас включает в
себя большой набор статистических данных и карт за 70 летний период,
начиная с первой переписи населения в 1948 году, продолжая данными
следующих переписей и заканчивая данными за 2018 год.
Для подготовки карт, отображающих исторические данные,
необходимо было найти обширную информацию, которая появлялась в
публикациях CBS на протяжении многих лет, и перенести ее в цифровую
базу данных, используя цифровое сканирование существующих карт или
компьютеризированный ввод данных. Таким образом, большая часть информации,
которая хранилась в старых и редких бумажных публикациях, теперь
вновь становится достоянием общественности и проливает свет на состав
и особенности израильского общества с момента создания государства
и по сей день.
Особый интерес в этом атласе представляет глава, посвященная
еврейскому поселению в 1949 году, в которой содержатся подробные
карты и диаграммы результатов переписи населения 1948 года, предшествовавшей
большим волнам иммиграции, прибывшим после окончания Войны за независимость.
Данные переписей в атласе нанесены на карту в соответствии
с природными регионами, организованными Центральным статистическим
бюро, и адаптированы для статистического картирования на национальном
уровне.
Границы природных регионов обновляются для каждой переписи,
а также между переписями в соответствии с изменениями в официальном
административном делении Государства Израиль на округа и подрайоны.
