  • Reproduction of the urban and rural population of Russia
    • Both the urban and rural populations of Russia are aging - by 2024, the average age of both had increased to 41 years
    • According to estimates at the beginning of 2024, 17.0% of the urban population and 17.4% of the rural population had reached the age of 65 and older
    • In 2023, the total fertility rate of the urban population was 1.36, and of the rural population - 1.57
    • In 2023, life expectancy at birth for the urban population increased to 73.9 years, and for the rural population to 72.1 years
    • In rural areas, mortality from external causes and respiratory diseases is higher than in cities, but mortality from neoplasms is lower
