В Европейском регионе ВОЗ, охватывающем 52 страны, как
правительства, так и лица, определяющие политику, знают, что хорошее
здоровье - это важнейший ресурс для социального и экономического
развития. Несмотря на то, что в этом регионе правительства и лица,
определяющие политику, могут по праву гордиться общим улучшением
состояния здоровья населения, перед ними стоит проблема возрастающих
различий в области здоровья как между западными и восточными странами
региона, так и между социально-экономическими группами внутри стран.
Задача уменьшения этих различий с каждым днем приобретает все большую
важность.
