  • First demographic results of 2024 in Russia (part I)
    • The population of Russia at the beginning of 2025 was 146.1 million people, having decreased by 31,000 people, or 0.02%, in 2024
    • Natural decline was 599,000 people, migration growth compensated for it by 95%
    • In 2024, the population of 63 out of 85 subject regions of the federation decreased; natural population decline was observed in 73 regions
    • The number of births continued to decline in 2024, decreasing to 1,222,000 people, or 8.4‰
    • The total fertility rate according to the data for January-December 2024 varied by Russian regions from 5.5‰ to 20.0‰
