Demographic results for the first half of 2020 in Russia (part II)

    • The number of deaths has been rising since May 2020

    • In 2019, mortality decreased from all major classes of causes of death, except for diseases of the digestive system and neoplasms

    • More than 90% of those who died from certain infectious and parasitic diseases and about 80% of those who died from external causes in Russia did not reach the age of 65

    • Infant mortality in the first half of 2020 continued to decline, dropping to 4.4‰

    • In January-July 2020, according to Rosstat estimates, 37.9 thousand deaths were registered with an established diagnosis of COVID-19
